Our page layout is such that it is provides a consistent format from property to property so visitors to your page can quickly identify those facts which may be important to them. (e.g Child or smoking policy etc). Much like the pages of a book. Every effort is made to make the pages user friendly and quick to download.

The most important feature of any website is its ability to perform well on major search engines under various search criteria. Cottage Stays is consistently achieving high ranking results on accommodation related search requests. A regular advertisement appears in the AA publication "Directions" Magazine directing prospective guests to the website in order to capture those a little less computer savvy. This publication is chosen for its ability to reach our target market - those who drive and travel - and for its long shelf life as a quarterly publication.
Other advertising may appear in various publications from time to time.

Does my accommodation have to be a "Cottage"?

Not necessarily, some of our most successful pages, at attracting both visitors and bookings, are in fact not cottages in the true sense. These properties do offer a sense of separation from  the hosts accommodation (though may not even be fully self contained). The appeal has been in providing an attractive style of accommodation to those who do not want the mainstream hotel, motel or 'in-house' hosted accommodation.

How do you join Cottage Stays ?

Simply  e-mail us and we will send you a form to fill in either in an e-mail format or printed and posted, whichever you prefer. Then just send us your photographs and your map (if you would like one included) with your payment by either cheque or credit card. Don’t forget if you would like a supplementary Gallery Page to display more of your photographs and information, or you would like additional pages to promote your other cottages as separate identities please let us know.
 

What does it cost?

Page listing fees are payable annually. Main page NZ$106.87 including GST for a twelve month listing starting from the day your listing appears on the website. This fee includes a main photo plus a cameo image in the sidebar. A contacts page, a directions page and a link to your own website if available.
You have the option of an additional Gallery Page to provide multiple photographs and information for your guests - additional cost is NZ$50.62 including GST

More than one listing attracts a discount of 20% on all subscription fees, the only criteria are that the listings must have the same contact details.

Now receive on-line availability through 'Gateway Availability' which was set up, and is administered, by ourselves. This has been separately branded as it is also available to non Cottage Stays properties. Note that your Gateway results are not linked to any other accommodation listings and visitors to your 'availability' cannot access other listings from there.  There are no hidden costs, this is a simple, easy to use, no frills system. Who are we?

We also operate the website www.designzontravel.co.nz which is successful in attracting clients to our custom travel services. Some of you know us from our time as B&B hosts or we have already had contact through DesigNZ on Travel, to meet us please click here.

The cottagestays.co.nz website operates independently, your property will be listed in detail and all contact from guests is direct to you, these inquiries and bookings incur no fees payable to us. Only the annual listing fee is payable and don't forget this includes a complimentary availability calendar.

cottagestays.co.nz is proving successful in providing hosts with accommodation inquiries. We regularly received very positive responses from guests and hosts, for providing a dedicated website to showcase this style accommodation.
