At Lahar Farm we welcome you to the NZ rural
life, sheep - cattle - deer are farmed on the
highest private land on the volcanic slopes of
the North Island's highest peak - Mount Ruapehu.
Easy to find - drive 2 straight km's off State
Highway 4. A sole party booking ensures that
your cabin will be private and 'country quiet',
your views are over native bush and our farm
leading up to Mt Ruapehu.
Your cabin is comfortably self-contained with
all the necessary equipment for self catering.
Lahar
Farm offers: - Bird watching, canoeing, trout
fishing on Lahar Lake. Wildlife photography of
Trophy Red Deer and Venison Hunting
Safaris, deer, also rabbit, possum and goat.
Native bush walks anywhere on the farm, animals
for the children. If you own or hire a 4WD
vehicle, we run "Lahar Totally Off
road" - enjoy a 4WD trek around our
property with Brent as your guide.
Attractions
within half an hour: - NZ's largest ski fields -
Turoa and Whakapapa (Mt Ruapehu). Open is
summer, The Tongariro Crossing - a popular one
day volcanic walk (tramp). The 42nd traverse - a
full day of Mountain biking terrain. The
Wanganui River 3 to 5 day canoeing trips.
Tramping to sub alpine areas in Tongariro
National Park World Heritage Area. Natural kiwi
bird viewing, horse treks,
4 x 4 bikes, golf, fishing.
