Description:
Our 500 acre
farm is surrounded b y Russell State Forest,
with 150 acres in grass the rest is sub-tropical
rainforest, completely indigenous.
The
property is quite isolated (no corner shop), so
you will need to bring all your supplies with
you. We can supply meals by prior arrangement at
additional cost. The cottage runs on alternative
power - no mains electricity, mobile phones do
work and hosts have internet connection.
Hosts can
collect visitors from Hukerenui (30 kms north of
Whangarei) if arriving by bus or coach. There is
only a pub at Hukerenui - backpacker
accommodation available.
Guided walks to the
Bay of Islands or Cape Brett, 2 to 3 days are
offered.
