a lovingly restored historic farm cottage built
when the first Kinneys came out from Ireland, 6
generations ago.
One of Hyde's earliest dwellings, Pine Grove's
happy history is reflected in it's atmosphere of
timelessness and tranquility.
This 3 bedroomed cottage is fully self-contained
with a well-equipped kitchen, character
bathroom, laundry, log burner, quality beds and
all linen provided. It can comfortably
accommodate 6 guests.
Pine Grove blends rustic character with modern
comfort. The rooms are clean, sunny and
inviting. They have been decorated and furnished
in keeping with the cottage's history, but
comfort has been hosts Mat and Ro's main
priority.
Pine Grove sits in a sunny sheltered garden,
nestled in the pine trees which give it it's
name. Sun streams into the kitchen in the
morning, while the verandah catches the evening
sun and is the perfect spot for unwinding and
listening to sheep bleating and birds singing.
There is something in the air of Hyde that
promotes relaxation; - mountains, river, amazing
cloud formations in a big sky and wide open
spaces.
Hyde also has lots to offer artists and
photographers with it's stunning scenery, unique
rock outcrops and historic sites.
Pine Grove is situated 3.5km from the Otago
Central Rail Trail, and is within walking
distance of the Taeiri River for fishing and
swimming.
Macraes is a 15 minute drive away and tours of
the Gold Mine are available on request.
Pine Grove is part of Mat and Ro's sheep farm,
and farm tours are also available on request.
The farm provides opportunity for walking and
exploring.
An hour and 15 minutes drive from Dunedin,
Alexandra and Oamaru, Pine Grove is an ideal
weekend getaway.
