Otuarumia
means "the calm beyond" - climb the Te
Onepu hill and you will reach a very peaceful
spot. The Cottage offers private, self contained
accommodation on the small working farm of
Otuarumia amist beautiful park-like gardens and
rolling Hawkes Bay hills. Relax on the sun
drenched verandah overlooking rural landscapes
with views of the Kaweka mountains or wander
through the woodland path to the dams to view
the wildlife and enjoy the native
birdsong.
Leisure activities available on site include -
large outdoor pool and sunbathing area, croquet
lawn, table tennis, volley ball, grass tennis,
bird watching and wildlife dams, BBQ area, farm
walks. We can organise off site excursions -
wine trails, forest/bush walks, mountain biking
trails, garden tours, gannet colony, trout
fishing....
We have some friendly pets - chickens, guinea
fowl, ducks, horse and fox terrier. Fresh herbs
and salad veges, fruit and walnuts are available
from the garden and fresh eggs from the
chickens.
The Cottage at Otuarumia is ideally situated as
a base from which to explore Hawkes Bay or if
you just want to relax, read, paint or write the
Cottage offers a tranquil retreat in which to
unwind and enjoy some traditional Hawkes Bay
scenery and hospitality.
