Nick and Jock Clouston warmly invite you to stay at Woodside Cottage, "Benmore", on the New Zealand's Kaikoura Coast. Built in the 1950s, the restored cottage, situated on the original horse and cart coastal track has accommodated many a weary traveler.

Private and secluded, Woodside Cottage is nestled beneath Benmore Hill on the northern tip of the Southern Alps, overlooking the spectacular scenic Kaikoura coast line.

Situated near State Highway 1, 45 minutes north of Kaikoura with its whale watching, dolphin swimming and numerous other activities.  45 minutes south of Blenheim with its award winning Marlborough wineries, Woodside Cottage is the ideal location for a peaceful, romantic and relaxing Marlborough holiday or simply a well earned weekend break.

Within close proximity to Woodside there are a number of fun and interesting attractions to enjoy. The fascinating seal colony at "Black Rock" is only a quarter of an hour walk down to the beach from the cottage and just five minutes by car or a leisurely two hour walk is the award winning cafe, "The Store", which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. Visit local gardens, wineries, rafting, spectacular Sawcut Gorge and Woodside gorge where alpine plants can be viewed at sea level and is a world renowned geological area. Fantastic eco-tourism.

For your leisure, you can take a native bush, surf beach or picturesque farm walk right at your doorstep. For a special treat, we can prepare a country picnic basket of your choice: quiche, salad, chicken pate, sandwiches and fruit.

If fishing for fun or serious angling is your pastime or passion, we can organise fishing trips with local angler, Sim Bell.

Rooms & Facilities:
The cottage has two attractive, comfortable bedrooms with self contained bathroom facilities. There is one twin room and one double room. There are full kitchen facilities where you can try our complimentary home made biscuits and "real" coffee. We have recently added an extra room in the refurbished cottage annex. The room has a king size bed and enjoys restful sea views. Being able to accommodate 6 guests enables you to enjoy a fun weekend with friends.

Take time to unwind, light a cosy fire and read in the adjoining sitting room. We can offer you a light and healthy breakfast of juice, fresh fruit, homemade muffins, muesli and preserves or try our hearty country breakfast, a combination of continental and cooked breakfast. All inclusive.

Kaikoura 45 minutes to the south.
Blenheim 45 minutes to the north.
"The Store" at Kekerengu open for meals day and evening, 10 minutes to the south.
